FOCUS: Granting wishes to children with critical illnesses
Make-A-Wish® Arizona is the founding chapter of Make-A-Wish, granting more than 5,500 wishes for Arizona wish kids since our first wish granted for Christopher in 1980. We are dedicated to providing hope, strength and joy to our wish kids, as well as to their families, communities and all our supporters who help to grant wishes.
Wishes are more than just a great experience for a day, two days or a week. The wish experience improves the quality of life for everyone involved.
Who is Eligible: A child with a critical illness who has reached the age of 21⁄2 and is younger than 18 at the time of referral and has not received a wish from any other wish granting organization is potentially eligible.
Who Can Refer a Child: Potential wish kids, medical professionals, parents, legal guardians and family members with detailed knowledge of the child’s current medical condition can initiate the referral process. For more details, please contact your child’s social worker.
